The Britax Boulevard Car Seat in Park Avenue is in the 'Convertible Seat' range of the Britax Safety Car Seats.
Convertible car seats are great because your car seat will last your child so much longer. The word "Convertible" basically means that the seat can be used rear facing for infants, and then turned forward facing once your child is old enough and big enough to do so safely. This is important because all infants should ride in a rear facing car seat until they have reached at least one year of age and weigh at least 20lbs. The Britax Boulevard can hold infants in the rear facing position up-to 33lbs, so this is a super feature!
Once your child gets too big for rear facing, you can then turn the Boulevard around where your child can use this seat until they are 65lbs.
You may ask the question, what is the difference between the Britax Marathon, Britax Decathlon and the Britax Boulevard. Well, the three car seats are virtually identical! They all use the same 'shell' or 'chassis'. The Decathlon has position adjustable crotch straps as well as a removable head pillow and infant positioning system for newborn babies (which aren't included in the Marathon). The Boulevard is one step up on the Decathlon. This is because the Boulevard has more Side Impact Protection (SIP) with the addition of supportive wings in the removable headrest and also has an easy no-thread shoulder strap harness adjuster on the back.
The deep side wings with EPS foam are engineered and tested for optimum side impact protection and adjust effortlessly with the turn of a knob to grow with your child…without removing the seat from your vehicle!
